Trinity College put up a solid effort to trounce Thurstan College by 41 points to 3 in a schools rugby tournament fixture at Pallekele.

The winners led 24 points to nothing at the breather.

Lions accumulated their points off three goals, four tries while the Thurstanites could not muster anything beyond a solitary drop goal.

Lions scored off their full back Dinuk Nayakaratne, winger C. Ratwatte, flanker K. Yatwara, centre Kanil Seneviratne, second centre Dharshana Udalagama, flanker Ashan Perera and Randika Alwis while their fly half Rehan Weerakoon put over the kicks.

For the visitors, it was their fly half Gayan Lakshan who scored the drop goal.
