The Trinity College Swimming Team has set a new record scoring over 1000 points at the 2012 seventh annual Age Group and Novices Swimming Championship organized by the Central Province Aquatic Sports Association.

They emerged victorious in the tournament, displaying their supremacy over all the other participated schools. The event took place at the Peradeniya University Swimming Pool at Kandy.

This was the seventh consecutive time they emerged as champions in this event, with this year being their best performance to date. Scoring a spectacular total of 1,035 points and making it the first time a team had ever reached the 1000 point milestone in the tournament, Trinity managed to obtain four out of the five age group championships, missing out only on the Over 16 age group. They also emerged champions in the Overall Novices category.
