A young Trinitian Prasad Dissanayake (Grade 12) who just finished his Ordinary Level exams passed away on 2nd of May due to a tragic train accident.

At about 5.30 in the evening he was rushing to another tuition class. He was one of the first people to leave the chemitry class, even an old lady who was nearby had shouted at him saying slow down. After crossing the road he came to the railway along with some of his friends while talking on the phone to his mother who is a teacher at Kandy Girls’ High School asking her to iron his school uniform to go to school on the next day. Prasad is best described as a silent student who was loved by the teachers and fellow classmates. He was also a Lemuelite, the school officers describes him as a good student who followed their word without talking nonsense. He got 8A’s and 1B for his Ordinary Level exams.

On the 3rd of May all of his fellow schoolmates had the special welcoming assembly at the college main hall which distributed them into their new A/L classrooms. It is a tragic accident, for his school life as an Advanced Level student (physical science stream) was supposed to commence the day after he passed away.
By the 4th of May evening his body has been released from the morgue to his family.
